I’ve been reflecting on the idea of “a little is enough.” Especially these days, when you see so much on everyone’s highlight reel. It is hard to not think of “all the things you should do”.
While I typically lead with this in mind, baby steps, a little at a time, slow and steady, I have also found myself needing this reminder at times.
With this in mind here are a few situations through out your days to keep this in mind.
- When you are setting any type of goals. Whether in the new year or anytime through out, a little is enough; one step forward is enough.
- Decluttering or removing one thing from your home that no brings joy to your life, is enough. A full cabinet, pantry, closet, bathroom declutter can feel amazing. But it can also leave you drained. Instead of taking on the whole bathroom, let one drawer be enough.
- While the benefits of a strength workout or walk are valuable, so are the days to slow down and just stretch. Let this slow down and little activity be enough, let is give your body what it needs with out the push for more.
- The long list of things that need to get done for home, family and life… let one item be enough, then move on, not carrying any thoughts of “I should do more”.
At times I drift away from the grace and space I want to give myself as a mom, wife or friend, in my small business efforts and in my day job. I can get lost in feeling like I am not doing enough (not cleaning enough, posting enough, playing enough, growing enough). For each of us it is something different that pulls us away from the grace we deserve. Whatever it may be for you, ignore the voice telling you that it is not enough. Because it is, that one action, step, item, is enough.
Remember, little by little, a little becomes a lot.
