I love decorating with bottlebrush trees! I have found most of my collection at antique shops, decor boutiques and local shops. It is fun to mix and match the sizes, styles and colors. This year I purchased a few extra on a quick Amazon order. When the box arrived I found a bag stuffed full of different sized neutral trees. They were not in great condition, so I went on a Google search to see how I could fix them. I found a great video from @JunkinwithStacy, HERE.
The trees were bent, bristles were all over the place, too long, sticking every which way and clumped with “snow”, or missing it all together.
Maybe you have even passed cute trees up in the store because they look like this! But don’t pass them up in the future. Snatch them up and follow the steps below to bring them back to their original cuteness.
Fill a bowl with warm water and just use your hands to wash and reshape. The longer you keep the trees in the water, the softer the bristles get. It was also easy to wash off the clumped snow, again the longer you keep it in the water the easier the snow and glue comes off.
You can also use a brush to help wash off the snow, or glue and glitter if your tree has it.
After you wash them, just set them on a towel to dry. I was already loving the results right after their wash. They definitely gave a more whimsical feel.
The pink one in the back was one of my daughter’s. It has glitter on it, but needed a reshape. I was able to get it soft enough to reshape, but not wash off the glued on glitter. It worked out great!
Once your trees are dry, it’s time for a trim. Cut back long limbs, following the shape of the tree. Also trim any branches that are out of place or a mess on the bottom.
Don’t worry about cutting it perfectly, that is part of the charm.
And.. Ta-Da! Refreshed and ready to add to your Christmas decor, or use in your holiday crafts.
Whether you plan to order a big bag of bottle brush trees or find a tree miss shaped as you pull it out from storage, hopefully this quick trick will help you give the tree an update to enjoy in your holiday decor!

I love this and that you recognize that managing a chore chart is a pain! This is a great way…
